ET Manager 7
110VAC Transformer (ETMi-TRAN)
In situations where the ET Manager cannot draw electricity from a sprinkler controller’s
24VAC power supply, the 110VAC Transformer may be used to power the ET Manager (see
page 22 for specification).
Schedules and Settings
The ET Manager has several programmable settings to make it a site-specific tool.
Information such as soil type, root depth, precipitation rate, slope and microclimate condi-
tions are all taken into consideration to create the ideal schedule for each site. These set-
tings are critical to the efficiency of the ET Manager and sprinkler controller, and must be
programmed upon installation. Determining the ET Manager settings and the best water-
ing schedule for the sprinkler controller is made simple with the use of the ET Manager
Scheduler, software application included with each ET Manager, for more information see
page 50.
ADVANCED OPTIONS
Enable A then B Output (Control) Method
Some sites need to spread watering over 2 days, watering a portion of the site one night
then the remaining portion the next night. The Enable A then B method separates watering
of Valve Groups A and B over a two day period. Two common wires are required to use
this feature and the sprinkler controller must support the option to “overlap” programs.
Even though the sprinkler controller will attempt to operate both programs at the same time,
the ET Manager will only allow one valve group to operate at a time.
ET & Rain Pulse Output (Control) Method
There are advanced ET-based sprinkler controllers that can use the ET Manager as an ET
source. ET-based controllers that accept a pulse input as an ET value can be connected to an
ET Manager. The ET Manager provides a momentary switch closure for each 0.01 of ET. The
ET Manager has a separate rain pulse output that provides a momentary switch closure for
each 0.01 of rain. The rain data comes from the selected rain source. The sprinkler control-
ler uses these values to automatically adjust watering schedules.
To utilize the ET and Rain Pulse Output Method, the ET Manager must be programmed cor-
rectly and the sprinkler controller must be programmed to recognize pulse inputs.
