Existing Weather Station requirements
The Rain Bird WS-200, WS Pro and WS Pro LT are compatible weather stations. In the event
that other Campbell Scientific weather stations are available, several things must be consid-
ered.
The minimum sensor set must include:
1. Pyranometer (Solar radiation sensor)
2. Air Temperature Sensor
3. Relative Humidity Sensor
4. Anemometer (Wind speed sensor)
5. Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge
The weather station must be programmed to store the following weather conditions with a
5- minute, 15-minute, or hourly time step:
Average Air Temperature
Maximum Air Temperature
Minimum Air Temperature
Average Relative Humidity
Solar Radiation
Average Wind Speed
Rain
Note: If the existing weather station is not a Rain Bird station, contact Weather Reach Signal Provider
Support 1-877-351-6588 for more information.
Existing Weather Station Networks
In some parts of the country there are existing weather station networks* that can be
accessed via the Internet. If there is a weather station network in your area, contact Weather
Reach Signal Provider Support 1-877-351-6588 to determine if the network can be used.
*The National Weather Service network is not compatible because it does not include solar
radiation measurements.
New Weather Stations
If existing stations are not available, a WRSP may purchase and install a Rain Bird
®
WS-PRO or
WS-PRO-LT weather station. For more information about weather stations, see pages 13-14
and 23 or contact Weather Reach Signal Provider Support 1-877-351-6588. Weather Station
details can be found on pages 33-36.
